Sydney is Australia’s largest city, and there are plenty of things to do both in the city and further abroad. The best way to make your way around is by renting a car from one of the major car rental companies in Sydney and choosing your own adventure! If you are on a holiday or just spending a weekend stopover in Sydney, here is an idea of where the road might take you.

A drive from Sydney down the southern coastline is surely an experience to die for. You can get into the car and take the road going through Stanwell Tops heading to Symbio Animal Park which is one of Australia’s native animal parks that is loved by all. After getting cozy with kangaroos here you can drive to Sydney Hang Gliding Center – a gliding setup from Stanwell Tops to the Stanwell park beach situated below.

Once done with that you can drive down to Kiama to have a feel of the natural environment of Australia. To get here you will need to pass Bombo Beach and its marvellous hillside. You can also enjoy the varying cuisine from different restaurants and cafes on the beachside that Kiama has on offer. For shopping freaks there are quite a few gifting items for sale at the terrace shops.

Again you can accelerate through the coastal windings as you pass the little towns on the way and come to Berry, a place to camp for the night if you are planning to do so or if not just to to fill your shopping bags. You have a great variety of antique and fashion boutiques and again here you can have the best of homemade Australian cuisine on your table and can also entertain your sweet tooth at the Treat Factory; one of the main attractions here.

Again as you drive further down towards Nowra you will land up at Shoalhaven, an area where you can pluck fruits from the plentiful harvest at the many vineyards. Also further down is the Valhalla Center for Horse Riding, for those who want to give it try on horseback. The center offers guided tours for as long as three hours around the area to give you a peek into the natural beauty of the nation. On your way back you can stop at Nowra’s information centre to get more information about the locality.

This can also be converted into a three day weekend drive or can be finished in a single day drive but you’ve got to admit that when it comes to driving down the southern coast of Sydney these are definitely the best places to explore Sydney by car.
